Kalundborg is centrally positioned in Denmark, and for that reason is a natural starting point for passenger traffic connecting Sjælland with Jutland and Samsø.
The Mols route has six daily sailings with the car/passenger ferries Mette Mols and Maren Mols, from Kalundborg to Århus. The Samsø route is served by three daily sailings on the M/V Kyholm from Kalundborg to Samsø.
